Teen Accused of Beating Up Clerk, Trashing Brighton Heights Rite Aid

BRIGHTON HEIGHTS (KDKA)- Pittsburgh Police have arrested a 19 year old man for robbery, assault and criminal mischief.

Police say Anthony Darius Rain broke into the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Brighton Road in Brighton Heights early Tuesday morning.

A store employee was working inside the closed store around 4:45 a.m. when he heard pounding on the front door. The front window was smashed before the worker could reach the front of the store.

Police say Rain forced open the door, entered the store and began punching the employee. There was a brief struggle between the employee and Rain. Eventually the worker was able to escape and run outside.

Police say Rain stayed inside the store, causing extensive damage to several cash registers and a lot of merchandise.
